SAO Association Hellas implements a trauma informed and services focused PSS programme, based on the needs of members, at the Amina Day Centre for Displaced Women. Assistance is provided by a team of women who are specially dedicated professionals (social workers and social scientists, psychologists, interpreters and educators)
SAO Association focuses on providing support to young mothers, single, disabled and elderly women who fled their homes to escape war, violence and persecution. Located in central Athens, Amina welcomes women of various ethnic, religious and national backgrounds in a warm and safe environment.
Our aim is to foster social inclusion and facilitate the integration process of the women who seek our services and by extension asist them and their families to build their lives in dignity.
- Group and one on one PSS consultations, GBV case management, informal Greek language learning programme, dissemination of relevant vital information, access to health, legal and education services and institutions, social inclusion initiatives
- Services are offered remotely and on site (day center is currently closed because of covid19 lockdown measures)
- Registrations are accepted by referral from ally organizations and partners only
