“Checkpoint” Testing and Prevention Centers, apply a holistic approach for sexual health. With HIV prevention as a starting point, our trained staff provides confidential rapid testing, counseling and information to our beneficiaries, in a safe, non-clinical environment, free of charge. We’re here to help you feel confident and knowledgeable about your sexual health, regardless of your sexual orientation, your gender identity and your sexual practices.
The Checkpoints operate in Athens (since 2012) and Thessaloniki (since 2014), centrally located and easily accessible. The services are designed on a peer-to-peer basis, targeted specifically to vulnerable social groups such as LGBTI+ individuals, men who have sex with men, sex workers, immigrants, Roma etc..

In order to access our services, you must schedule an appointment first! Click here to schedule your appointment. We will welcome you to our facilities, situated in the central Athens, in a five-floor building at 4 Pittaki Street, Monastiraki.
Testing and counseling are provided in Greek and English. If you don’t speak any of these languages on a conversational level, please, come to your visit with a translator or a trusted friend to facilitate the communication.
During your appointment
Each testing and counseling session lasts for approximately 30 minutes. We could talk about HIV, Hepatitis and other STIs prevention, safer sex practices and whatever concerns you regarding your sexual health. At the end of the counseling session, you can get tested. A single drop of blood from your finger is only required and the test will give a confidential result within a minute.
Due to COVID-19 conditions, you must wear a face mask during your visit, at all times. “Checkpoint” abide by all safety regulation and guidelines against the pandemic.
